Excellency Mohammed Thani Murshid Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, received His Excellency Saleh Eitah, Algerian Ambassador to the UAE, at the Chamber’s Tower in Abu Dhabi. Mohammed Helal Al-Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber attended the meeting.
During the meeting, H.E. Al-Rumaithi emphasized that the Abu Dhabi Chamber continuously encourages its members from Emirati companies to invest in Algeria. He added that the relationship between the two countries opened up wide doors for the Emirati companies to increase their presence in the Algerian markets.
“Trade relations between the two countries require spending more efforts to increase their volume and develop their mechanisms considering the available economic and natural capabilities,” Al-Rumaithi said, pointing to the importance of cooperation and finding the proper tools to boost the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
The two sides discussed the organization of a joint Emirati-Algerian investment forum during the second quarter of the current year with the objective of supporting economic and investment relations and informing businessmen and investors in the UAE with the available investment opportunities in Algeria.
“Organizing such a forum would provide businessmen, companies and investors in the UAE with complete information on the available investment opportunities and the procedures and facilities of doing businesses in Algeria,” Al-Rumaithi said, pointing out that such a forum would contribute towards increasing Emirati investments and projects in Algeria.
Al-Rumaithi delivered a presentation to the Algerian ambassador on the role of the Abu Dhabi Chamber in providing the best services which contribute to the development and growth of businesses and building international partnerships. He noted that the Chamber is the voice of businesses in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and that one of its objectives is a direct contribution to increasing trade exchange, economic cooperation and expanding the scope of joint cooperation.
For his part, H.E Saleh Eitah, Algerian Ambassador to the UAE, said that Algeria is full of natural resources and investment opportunities in all industrial, services and agricultural sectors. He noted that the UAE-Algerian investment forum which will be held in the second quarter of the current year will provide huge opportunities for Emirati businessmen and companies to boost their investments in Algeria.
Eitah expressed his utmost thanks and appreciation to the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Chamber in supporting and expanding the fields of economic and investment cooperation between the UAE and Algeria.
