National Guard (CICPA) Abu Dhabi Launches New Online Appointment System

Published by Plus UAE Group | PRO Services & Business Support | Abu Dhabi

Big news for all companies operating in Abu Dhabi's critical infrastructure sectors — the National Guard (formerly CICPA – Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority) has officially launched a new online Booking Appointment System, effective 29 June 2026.

A New Era for CICPA / National Guard Appointments in Abu Dhabi

Starting from this date, all appointment bookings for CICPA / National Guard transactions must be made exclusively through the new online portal at connect.plusuae.com. Manual walk-in visits and telephone bookings — the traditional methods companies relied on for years — are no longer accepted.

This is a significant operational shift that every company, PRO, and contractor working in Abu Dhabi's restricted zones, oil & gas sites, ports, and critical infrastructure areas must be aware of immediately.

What Has Changed?

Compare the old process with the new mandatory online booking requirements.

Walk-in / manual visits acceptedOnline booking mandatory
Telephone bookings acceptedNo telephone bookings
No structured time slot systemFixed time slots (every hour)
No advance planning neededBook from tomorrow up to 1 month ahead

The new system operates through ng.gov.ae/booking, the official National Guard appointment portal. Companies must now plan ahead, as the system only allows bookings starting from the next day, up to one month in advance, and same-day appointments are strictly not permitted.

How the New Booking System Works

The new portal at ng.gov.ae/booking is straightforward to use. Here is the step-by-step process:

1

Visit ng.gov.ae/booking

Access the official National Guard appointment portal online.

2

Enter Representative Card Number

The authorised PRO or company representative card issued by the National Guard.

3

Select Your Location

Currently available locations include Abu Dhabi (with more to follow).

4

Select Type of Request

Tick "Transactions" for standard CICPA/National Guard-related work.

5

Choose Appointment Date

Must be tomorrow or later, within the next 30 days.

6

Select Time Slot

Hourly slots displayed with remaining seats (e.g., 06:00–06:59, 07:00–07:59, and more).

7

Confirm & Note Reference

Confirm your appointment and save your booking reference number.

Each time slot shows real-time seat availability, so companies can plan their visits without the uncertainty of long queues or wasted trips.

Why This Change Matters for Your Business

The National Guard (CICPA) permit is not optional — it is a mandatory security clearance required for all companies and personnel working within Abu Dhabi's restricted zones, which include:

  • ADNOC oil and gas onshore and offshore installations
  • Ports and coastal facilities
  • Power stations and desalination plants
  • Critical government and industrial infrastructure

This means the appointment booking process is now a critical step in your operations timeline. Delays in booking appointments directly translate to delays in issuing or renewing CICPA passes, which can halt your workforce's access to project sites.

With slots filling up quickly — particularly in the 06:00–09:00 morning windows — companies should instruct their authorised PROs to book slots at least 3–5 working days in advance.
